The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and citizen-centred service delivery.
The commission stated this at the launch of a two-day Certified Technical Capacity Building Workshop for the Service Compact with All Nigerians (SERVICOM) Departmental Desk Officers in Enugu State.
The workshop, which began on Monday, aims to review the third edition of INEC’s Integrated Service Charter and develop a Local Service Charter to strengthen service standards across the Commission.
It is being conducted in collaboration with the SERVICOM Presidency Team and approved by INEC Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan.

Speaking at the opening, Mr Austin Orogbu, Director of Administration, who represented the National Commissioner, Prof. Sani Adams, and the Secretary to the Commission, Mrs Rose Anthony, stated the strategic importance of the training.
He reported that the Commission is serious about improving service delivery and noted that the SERVICOM unit’s recent recognition as the “most improved parastatal service unit” reflects ongoing reforms.
Orogbu encouraged desk officers to leverage the workshop to achieve meaningful results.
Representing the INEC State office, Mr Rex Achimie, Head of Department, Voter Education and Publicity, welcomed participants and acknowledged the SERVICOM Presidency Team’s support.
He stressed that credible elections depend not only on laws and technology but also on efficient service delivery, responsiveness to stakeholders, and adherence to best administrative practices.
Organisers said the workshop will align INEC’s Service Charter with strategic objectives, incorporate stakeholder feedback, assess performance metrics, and identify gaps in service delivery.
Expected outcomes include clearer definitions of services, improved institutional accountability, higher stakeholder satisfaction, and a more efficient service delivery framework.
