The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has launched a formal investigation into alleged misconduct during the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 quarter-final matches, following the submission of recent match reports and video evidence.
The incidents under review involve players and officials from the Cameroon vs Morocco fixture and the Algeria vs Nigeria encounter. CAF confirmed that the matters have been referred to its Disciplinary Board, which will determine whether any individuals are guilty of wrongdoing and recommend appropriate sanctions.
In a separate development, CAF is also examining footage relating to an incident involving members of the media, who allegedly displayed unruly behaviour in the mixed zone.
The football governing body issued a strong condemnation of any inappropriate conduct during tournament matches, with particular emphasis on actions directed at referees or match organisers.
CAF stated that disciplinary measures will be pursued against anyone whose behaviour falls short of the professional standards expected at its events.
